Standard Features
The 135-inch, short-wheelbase, rear-wheel-drive van is powered by a 5.3L V8 and 4-speed automatic, while a 4.8L Vortec V8 FlexFuel unit producing 280 hp and 295 ft-lb of torque is available, as is a 6.0L Flex Fuel V8 making 324 horsepower and even a 6.6L turbo diesel. Each is mated to a heavy-duty 6-speed automatic. In all-wheel-drive configuration, a 5.3L V8 rated at 310 hp and 334 lb-ft of torque is the standard engine, paired with a 4-speed automatic with overdrive.

The 155-inch, long-wheelbase Express benefits from the 4.8L V8, an optional 6.6L diesel, or a 6.0L V8 making 323 hp and 373 ft-lb of torque.

Standard equipment includes anti-lock disc brakes, StabiliTrak stability control, traction control, tire-pressure monitoring and driver and passenger airbags. Only the short-wheelbase Express 1500, in either cargo or passenger configuration, is available with all-wheel drive.

Three trim levels are available: 1500 at the base, 2500 in the mid-range, and 3500 for heavy-duty use. The 1500 passenger van seats eight, and is available with power doors and locks, rear heat and air conditioning, cruise control and a swing-out storage bin in the console. The 2500 seats twelve and has full-floor carpeting and remote keyless entry. The 3500 can be had with seating for twelve or fifteen, and rear air-conditioning vents are standard.
The 2012 Express didn't change much from the 2011 model. Power front seats are now optional across the lineup and the engine availability has been revised.
Can be configured for work or families; configurable seating up to 15
Sometimes, only a full-sized van will do. Whether you need to haul a dozen or more people or tow 9,500 pounds of equipment, the Chevy Express is one of the few vehicles that can accomplish it. The base Express starts just under $30,000. All non-diesel Express models can use E85 Flex Fuel.
