How to Program HomeLink®
Winston-Salem drivers will see that it's incredibly simple to program HomeLink®! Want to connect HomeLink® to your garage door? All you need to do is follow these steps.
- Your HomeLink® unit is comprised of three buttons and is typically located on the interior roof of your vehicle. Once you locate it, press and hold the first and third buttons until your vehicle's interior lights flash (takes roughly 20 seconds). Because this is the master reset function, you won't need to repeat this step when adding other devices.
- Next, press and hold the button you want to use for your garage door opener while holding the open/close button on your actual garage door opener at the same time. If you do this correctly, your lights should start rapidly flashing, meaning the programming was successfully completed.
- After programming HomeLink® within your car, walk into your garage and click the "learn" button on your garage door opener.
- Last, you will walk back to your vehicle and press the button you programmed to open your garage for a minimum of two seconds. If your garage door's lights flash, this means that you have fully completed the device connection.
